Real Life

Lately, I've *really* been listening to the lyrics on the songs on WAY-FM and K-LOVE.  I've needed to hear these lyrics and let them sink into my heart.  This song came on the other morning on my way to work, and emotions flooded my mind and heart, enabling tears to shed (which I hoped didn't mess up my mascara!)

Your Grace Finds Me - Matt Redman
It's there in a newborn cry
There in the light of every sunrise
There in the shadows of this life
Your great grace

It's there on the mountain top
There in the everyday and the mundane
There in the sorrow and the dancing
Your great grace
Oh, such grace

From the creation to the cross
There from the cross into eternity
Your grace finds me
Yes, Your grace finds me

The rest of the lyrics are great, but these are all the lyrics I needed that morning.  God knew what I needed to hear.  His grace finds me wherever I am.  His grace finds us wherever we are.  And His grace surrounds us, and is in the everyday and mundane, it's in the sorrow, it's in the dancing.  No matter what - His grace is there, and we need His grace.  I need His grace.

The season I'm in has been beautiful and lovely, and challenging.  It hasn't been what I expected.  I've needed to be reminded of the beauty of grace.  To hear your husband of almost 4 years tell you he doesn't think he believes in Jesus or the creation story, or that some of the Bible stories seem  To hear him say he doesn't think he's a Christian anymore, and the decision to not identify as a Christian gives him freedom for the first time, all while you find out you're pregnant with your first child, just... *can't find the right words*

It's a grieving season. But also a beautiful season because I'm going to be a mom, and my husband is going to be a dad, and our family is growing. I'm reminded of the importance to love my husband and support him, and accept him where he is, and show him grace. Because that's what Jesus did for me.  I think that's what he wants most is love and acceptance.  And I have HOPE that one day he will find that love and acceptance from Jesus Christ.
